Truck drivers in Canada are being offered a free shower and breakfast at a hotel

Truck drivers in Canada are being offered a free shower and breakfast at a hotel, and honestly, it's the heartwarming news that we all need during the COVID-19 pandemic.

A Saskatchewan Holiday Inn took to Facebook to offer all commercial truckers passing by their location a hot shower and breakfast or supper, all free of charge.

"Our truck driving industry is keeping us all going with their commitment and dedication to ensuring shipments are being delivered as quickly as possible," the post reads.

"We are so appreciative of all of you."

The hotel also noted that their sister locations — including the Western Star and Hampton Inn Regina — are also "stepping up" to help the trucking industry by offering hot showers and meals.

"This is incredible!" one woman wrote. "My husband is a truck driver and I am sure him and all his trucker buddies will really appreciate this."

A truck driver said, "I can’t express how much this means to myself and all the truckers drivers keeping the goods moving. Everyday someone sends a message or a post of another business that has closed its washrooms or showers."

"Thank you, thank you, thank you!"

Canadians continue to show their support for essential workers throughout the pandemic by cheering for healthcare workers from their balconies and writing messages of gratitude across the country.
