Miracles at First Childcare Center Inc. is a not-for-profit provincially licensed organization founded by First Moncton United Baptist Church. Miracles partners with the church to provide quality child care that introduces children and their families to Jesus and His love in a nurturing and loving setting. The goal of Miracles is to meet the spiritual, physical, emotional, and developmental needs of children, regardless of gender, race, religious, or political beliefs. The Board of Directors is looking for an Executive Director who will lead by example and by building on the partnership with the church, grow Miracles as both an Early Learning and Child Care Centre and as a ministry of the church.

The Executive Director is responsible to the Board of Directors and is the person immediately responsible for daily operation and maintenance of the daycare. The Executive Director is responsible for all activities operated on behalf of the daycare including the safety of the children and other staff within the organization.

The Executive Director is accountable for the implementation of all policies and programs related to child development and care, human resources, finance, equipment and facilities, family and community relations and governance of the child care centre.

The Executive Director will meet with parents to introduce them to the daycare centre and explain the centre’s policies, fees, regulations, and curriculum. The Executive Director deals with parental concerns, including behavioural concerns, injuries, or other incidents that occur during the day and is responsible for conveying policy changes to parents.

Responsibilities
• Responsible for the development, implementation, and evaluation of the NB curriculum activities.
• Ensures that the Centre meets all requirements for an early child care centre as specified by the Province of NB including all inspections, compliance, and drills.
• Responsible for the hiring, training, supervision, and evaluation of all employees. Also ensures all staffing needs are fulfilled and maintained to meet provincial child/childcare worker ratio guidelines and requirements.
• Partners with the church to implement the faith curriculum and to grow Miracles as a ministry of the church.
• Responsible for the promotion of the centre.
• Reports to the Board of Directors and attends monthly Board of Directors meetings.
• Represent the function of the centre to all aspects of the community and also promote the centre’s purpose and activities for the children in collaboration with the educators. • Maintains the strictest of confidentiality in dealing with families, church, and employees.
• Responsible for maintenance of financial statements and daily bookkeeping.
• Ensures menus are prepared and distributed to the children’s guardians. Supervises the purchase, storage and preparation of food served in the centre.

Qualifications
• Minimum 3 years of management experience in an Early Learning and Child Care Center
• Thorough knowledge of the Early Childhood Services Act and all other relevant legislation
• Computer literacy, including effective working skills of MS Word, Excel and E-mail
• Participative yet assertive management style: leads by personal example, coaching, teamwork, but not hesitant to make decisions and direct activities
• Strong morals and ethics, sound judgment and reasoning skills
• Committed to the partnership between Miracles and the church and to growing Miracles as a ministry of the church
• Ability to communicate effectively with tact and diplomacy to parents, children and staff
• High energy level with a strong work ethic
• Excellent organization skills to prioritize workload
• High standard of professionalism
• Ability to safeguard confidential information
• Experience in accounting and use of accounting software, such as Sage Accounting considered an asset

Required Documents:
• ECE Certificate or an Introduction to ECE Certificate offered by the Department of Education and Early Childhood Development
• Valid Standard First Aid and CPR Level C Certificate
• Recent successful Criminal Record Check/Vulnerable Sector Check
• Recent successful SD Record Check
• Valid approved Food Handler Training and Certification
