I am a grad student looking to rent out one bedroom in the upstairs suite of a house located in McKernan (11508 80 Ave) for 4 months starting May 1. The bedroom easily fits a double bed, night stand and set of drawers with room to spare. The room has a closet (door on the left of the image) and two large windows in the corner of the west and north walls. Bedroom furniture is not included.
The upstairs suite has 3 bedrooms, 1 bathroom, a den/tv room, a large kitchen (dishwasher, stove/oven, microwave and fridge), and large laundry room (washer/dryer) with storage. The living spaces come fully furnished, you just need kitchen/cooking items. The house is quite large, and comfy. There are large windows in every room, and the outside of the house was recently renovated. There is parking available in the back, or on the road with a permit through the city. A large patio is attached to the front of the house with a big front yard (no back yard).
Mowing the lawn is covered by the landlord, and he is very responsive and quick to help with any issues that may come up. Three tenants live downstairs, which has a separate entrance and no access to the upstairs suite.
Currently, two lovely female grad students are looking for a good fit with a third student (preferably another woman); therefore, the new tenant will be interviewed by all current tenants prior to signing the lease. Unfortunately, no pets.
Move in date is May 1, 2019 for a four-month term (May-Aug) with the possibility of extending the lease for 1 year thereafter (Sept-Aug). Rent is $650/month ($650 security deposit upfront) and includes everything except internet - internet was previously $14 per person/month on a student plan.
The location is south of the Butterdome (10 min walk) and has easy access to the LRT (Health Science, 5 min walk) and Whyte Ave (8 min walk).
