Forget about doing it yourself with a Rug Doctor or Bissel, if you factor out the rental or purchase cost, the time you spent doing it plus the harm you are doing to the carpet (leaving soapy residue that will attract more dirt that is harder to take out), you'll be better off just calling the professionals using the best tools for the trade.

1.) PRE-VACUUMING - This takes out bigger particles in the carpet that may not go through the narrow slots of our wand and prevents airflow blockage. This is to be done by the customer and we recommend a vacuum with rotating brush to dig deep into fibers and also remove human and pet hair. We can also do this for a reasonable fee.
2.) CHEMICAL SPRAYING - We only use high-quality, enzyme-based chemical that breaks down organic substances in the carpet and brings them to the surface near the tip for easy removal during rinsing. We take time to agitate heavy traffic and stained areas to loosen dirt even further. The enzymes are really good at attacking pet urine and food stains.
3.) RINSING - THIS IS WHERE WE DO BETTER THAN THE REST! Rinsing is done by spraying high pressurized water to the carpet to dislodge the dirt brought to the surface by the chemicals and immediately vacuuming it out. We achieve the best result by:
A.) Using truckmount machine which has a water pump capable of producing up to 1200 psi water pressure and flow rate of 3.5 gal./min. We work around 400 psi which is double the maximum of most portable carpet cleaning machines operating at only 200 psi and very low flow. This is not comparable to do-it-yourself machines like Bissel or Rug Doctor which operates at very low pressure. We use around 40 to 50 gal of water to rinse and clean a medium size home. Imagine how many times a carpet cleaner with a portable machine will need to fill a 10 gal tank or how many times you have to fill the small water tank of your Bissel or Rug Doctor to use that many water. High pressure and high flow deliver amazing results!
B.) We use hot water produced by the heat exchangers in the truckmount machine. Hot water breaks down dirt easily. You wouldn’t clean a greasy pan with cold water, right?
C.) The truck mount carpet machine has a big vacuum (330 CFM) and able to remove most of the water and the dirt from the carpet.
D.) The ZIPPER WAND is the tool that comes in contact with the carpet. We did our research and decided to spend $4k extra for this wand while most carpet cleaners just use the wand that comes free with the machine. Why did we do that?
a.) High Flow – this wand has 5 water jets while most wand only has 2
b.) It has 2 Vacuum Ports while ordinary wand only has 1. Pls. see video at www.vacuumthingy.ca . One stroke of this wand is like 2 strokes of the ordinary wand. It takes more dirt and water out of the carpet leaving carpets dryer.
