Ontario is reporting 1,676 people in hospital with COVID on Thursday, with 205 in intensive care.

This is down by 22 for hospitalizations but an increase of six for ICUs since the previous day. Last Thursday, there were 1,661 hospitalizations with 202  in ICU.

Meanwhile, Ontario also reported 2,700 new lab-confirmed COVID-19 cases on Thursday, though that is an underestimate of the true widespread transmission of the virus due to PCR testing eligibility. The provincial case total now stands at 1,268,390.

The death toll in the province has risen to 12,921 from the previous day as 32 more virus-related deaths were added.
