The Toronto Maple Leafs goalie prospect shot the puck into an empty net for Prince Albert of the Western Hockey League in the third period of its 3-1 win against Tri-City on Friday.
Scott, a fourth-round pick (No. 110) of the Maple Leafs in the 2017 NHL Draft, was mobbed by his teammates after fielding a dump-in behind his net and flipping it down the ice and in with 43.5 seconds left in the third period.
It was his first goal, and the first by a WHL goalie since Stuart Skinner of Lethbridge scored against Red Deer on March 18, 2016. Scott made 23 saves and was named the game's No. 1 star; he is 16-1-0 this season.
Goalie Tristan Jarry, who played 26 games for the Pittsburgh Penguins last season, hit an empty net for Wilkes Barre/Scranton of the American Hockey League on Wednesday. NHL
