Driving trucks to cutbank....... Attached photos: Young lady is holding a 15 inch jumbo perch caught at cutbank in 2016. Largest 11x24 6-person cabin is #4, followed by a inside pic, 10x16 4-person and two inside pics. Interesting photo from 2017 season with ice boater. Lol. Cooking some walleye with friends.
Nine Overnight Cabins located @ "cutbank" on north side of Lesser Slave Lake's western basin. Cutbank is a 3.5km drive on the ice road east of Hilliards Bay Provincial Park boat launch.
All Nine overnight cabins available with the season kicking off Dec 24/18 taking reservations up to March 30/19 weekend Cabins are located on north side of Lesser Slave Lake's western basin. Cutbank is over 1km long, running west to east with many fishing opportunities. Underwater drop off ranges from 14-16ft on the top of the underwater hill and down to 30-32ft on bottom of drop off. Walleye move away from underwater hill during the day into the deeper flats. We set the cabins over these same flats. Don't forget your underwater camera so you can watch the walleye and perch roaming the flats looking for a easy meal. Watch the fish react to your favorite lure and note their relation to the bottom to adjust your strategy when required.
Overnight cabins come in various sizes with similar floor plans. Each cabin is equipped with a wood stove, c/w supply of wood. Each cabin has a out house. Guests enjoy their own bunk bed with a twin size mattress. Smaller cabins have four holes and larger cabins have up to six fishing holes. Cabins have lights, 110v receptacles and a 15ft extension cord which plugs directly into your generator. .
Supplies to bring along:.......Generator, small camp cook stove, fry pan, paper plates, sleeping bag/pillow, fishing gear, frozen minnows, AXE. Glow in the dark jig heads work well for both walleye and perch. Forget something, no problem. Hamlet of Grouard is only a 10min drive from boat launch. Couple stores with some basic groceries, spirits, frozen minnows, fishing gear, gas..
Check in hours between 1pm-4pm. We will meet you on the ice at the cutbank. Arrangements can be made for later check in if needed
Kijiji location map on this ad shows where Grouard and Hilliards Bay Provincial Park are located in relation to the lake. Hilliard's boat launch is the access to the cutbank ice road.
From Edmonton travel north approx. 3 hrs on hwy 2 passing through Slave Lake until reaching hwy 750, turn right (north) on hwy 750 follow park signs, turn right on Hilliards Bay Provincial Park road, follow the signs to boat launch, follow ice road to cutbank and our ice shack town.
