Garibaldi Glass is a privately owned, architectural glass fabrication facility serving local and international markets. Since 1966, Garibaldi Glass has grown to become the premier source of innovative glass solutions, currently employing over 200 employees working in our 160,000 square foot facility in South Burnaby, BC. Key Responsibilities
As a Senior Buyer, you will use your strong understanding of Purchasing best practices to procure all inventory parts, suppliers and services used throughout the company. In collaboration with Production, Engineering, Finance and other departments, the Senior Buyer ensures the appropriate inventory levels are maintained and communicated, as well as ensures the appropriate materials are available for projects. In addition, the Senior Buyer used superior negotiation and communication skills to develop strong relationships with vendors and suppliers.

Buying
• Creates purchase orders for all raw materials used in the manufacturing process.
• Determines order requirements based on current inventory, open order requirements and project forecasts.
• Communicates with other departments to coordinate timing of raw material deliveries.
• Purchases supplies for the manufacturing departments.
• Tracks orders and provides updates to internal stakeholders (Project Managers, Planners, Sales, Receiving).
• Collaborates with Senior Buyer & Purchasing Leader to evaluate offers from vendors and negotiate competitive pricing.
• Works with finance, sales and estimating to ensure accuracy of pricing info.
• Communicates with suppliers to confirm due dates, update orders and follow-up on credits.
• Collects customs information and other compliance documents from suppliers.
• Actively collaborates with suppliers to reduce cost and lead-times.
• Engages collaboratively with internal teams through development and implementation of sourcing and procurement strategies and solutions
• Recommends innovative solutions to internal teams based on industry and functional expertise.
• Identifies and drives continuous improvements within Purchasing practices
• Identifies risks from the changing procurement environment, and potential risk mitigation
• Assists in researching potential vendors
• Cultivates and further develops relationships with existing suppliers.

Inventory
• Reviews and maintains safety stock levels and re-order points for raw materials.
• Participates in monthly physical cycle counts for glass
• Investigates discrepancies found during cycle counts
• Reviews the requirements of new customer orders to confirm material availability.

Qualifications
• Post-secondary education in Purchasing or Supply Chain or related field
• Pursuing a professional designation in procurement.
• 3-5 years’ experience as a Buyer within a Manufacturing environment
